You may have noticed some photos in our bespoke section of a building attached to someone’s house. We have been asked on many occasions whether we would consider this option, and this summer we finally did it! The customer wanted somewhere for their son to go with his T.V., computer and music, but it had to fit in with their beautiful Cotswold house. The large full height gable window is the main feature from outside, along with the finely detailed cedar cladding and steeply pitched roof. From the inside, this living room feels bright and airy, thanks to that window and the high beamed ceiling. It is all finished off with a fine American ash hardwood floor.

We recently installed a Walton for an author of children’s books to use as a garden office. Nothing particularly unusual about that, except it was perched on the side of a mountain in a beautiful valley in Dumfries and Galloway. We had a lot of work to do there because we had to install a timber platform and steps on which to build the office, which took 5 men in total. They loved the place, the views, the people, the entertainment, but not the wildlife! When I did my site survey it wasn’t a problem, but in early July the locals are annoying. The local midges, that is. A word of advice for the lads next time – take some spray. |
