FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everyone will have their own specific requirements and questions, but here are a few of the ones that tend to crop up on a regular basis:
Will I need Planning Permission? |
If you live in a listed building, conservation area, National Park or an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you may require planning permission. In most other cases, you do not, provided certain guidelines are followed. If you are unsure of your position, the first port of call is the government planning portal, which has excellent interactive guides explaining the rules. Should you require planning, we can produce the necessary drawings of your building and will help you in every step of your application. Please feel free to contact us, to talk about any issues you feel you may have. |
 What preparation is required? |
Our buildings require to be put on a flat, stable base. A concrete pad is ideal, but paving or decking is also suitable. This is the responsibility of the customer. However, we can provide this service, if required. At the order stage, we supply the customer with all the necessary dimensions. |
Can somebody come to my house and give me some advice on what would fit best? |
Yes, this is essential. We offer a no-obligation site survey to fit around you (including weekends). The decision to put an extra room in your garden is not one that should be taken without having sought advice. Our site survey is carried out by an expert who is able to make important decisions there and then so that you know if something is possible or not. These visits are not high pressure sales gimmicks. We don’t need them! |
How long will it take? |
Depending on the size, from 2 - 5 days. All of the building sections are designed to pass through a standard doorway and are then reassembled in your garden by our own experienced, skilled craftsmen. |
What sort of guarantee do you give? |
Our Devon and Surrey ranges come with extensive 5 year guarantees. Our Studio range has a 10 year guarantee. |
Will you build something to my design? |
We have done this on numerous occasions. We work closely with our customers to achieve what they want. |
